A world first! King penguins prey on fish in the dark sea.

A press release issued by the Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute at the University of Tokyo on May 28, 2025, highlights research findings that mark the world’s first successful filming of king penguins hunting fish in the dark depths of the ocean. In this study, researchers attached small video cameras equipped with LED lights to the penguins and successfully recorded their hunting behavior at depths of over 100 meters.

The video logger used in this study was our product, the LoggLaw CAM. The LoggLaw CAM is a high-performance video logger designed to record animal behavior in detail, and it has been utilized in various research projects, including studies involving sea turtles, whale sharks, and bluefin tuna.
